Octans[1] est constellatio in qua Nadirus, caeli Polus Australis situs est. Inde tantum ex Hemisphaerio Australi videri potest. Proxima Polo Australi stella σ Octantis vel Polaris Australis est, quae stella quidem tam obscura est, ut signum non adhibeatur. Pro ea Crux bene ac feliciter adhibetur.
