原馬來人(馬來文:Melayu Proto)是第一批到達南洋群島的馬來人,目前使用的語言屬於南島語系,他們在新石器時代晚期遷徙至南洋群島。書籍 The Encyclopedia of Malaysia: Early History 指出了馬來人起源的三大理論,但是歷史學界尚無定論。
值得注意的是,現今存在的原馬來人依舊可見,他們包括了莫肯人、Orang Jakun、Orang Kuala、Orang Temuan和Orang Kanaq。[41]
