Мё́ры[3] (трансліт.: Miory) — горад у Віцебскай вобласці Беларусі, адміністрацыйны цэнтр Мёрскага раёна, на беразе Мёрскага возера. За 190 км ад Віцебска. Чыгуначная станцыя на лініі Друя — Варапаева. Аўтадарогамі злучаныя з Дзісной, Верхнядзвінскам, Браславам, Шаркаўшчынай. Насельніцтва 8 001 чал. (2017)[4].

Першапачаткова назва Мёраў адносілася да возера, якое на старых картах называецца «Мёры» (цяпер — возера Мёрскае).
Вядомая з 1514 г. назва Мёраў — маёнтак «Мярэя» (Мерея) перагукаецца з балцкай назвай дняпроўскай рэчкі Мярэя[5] (цячэ па тэрыторыі Горацкага і Дубровенскага раёнаў).
Корань Mer- / Mor- мае значэнне «стаячая вада» і суадносіцца з літоўскім marios «затока»[6]. Гэты корань у літоўскіх гідронімах Mera, Meraitis (у Швянчоніскім раёне).
У назве Мярэя балцкі гідранімічны пашыральнік -ej-, як у падняпроўскіх балцкіх гідронімах *Vedēja, *Rupēja[7], літоўскіх Asveja, Roveja[8], у назве возера Асвея. Блізкія яму пашыральнікі -ij-, -uj- у водных назвах тыпу Ілія, Бабруя.
У пісьмовых крыніцах упамінаюцца пад 1514 годам як маёнтак Мярэя Браслаўскага павета Вялікага Княства Літоўскага. Як маёнтак Мёры называюцца ў попісе літоўскага войска 1567 года. У 1644 годзе тут стаяў праваслаўны манастыр, які ў 1690 годзе М. Мірскі падараваў уніятам. У 1691 годзе пабудаваны касцёл. У XVIII стагоддзі існавала 5 маёнткаў пад назвай Мёры. Гэтыя маёнткі належалі Мірскім, Перасвет-Солтанам, Беліковічам, Клотам, Зяновічам, Пуцятам.
У выніку другога падзелу Рэчы Паспалітай у 1793 годзе Мёры адышлі да Расійскай імперыі як мястэчка, цэнтр воласці Дзісенскага павета Мінскай, а з 1842 года Віленскай губерняў. У 1866 годзе тут адкрыта народная школа. У 1886 годзе насельніцтва мястэчка складала 110 жыхароў. Тут стаялі 3 карчмы, штогод праводзіліся 2 кірмашы. У канцы XIX стагоддзя дзейнічалі 2 школы. У 1903 годзе ў Мёрах 145 жыхароў, вучылішча, царкоўнапрыходская школа.
У 1918 годзе Мёры акупіравалі германскія войскі, у 1919—1920 гадах яны былі заняты польскімі войскамі.
Паводле Рыжскага мірнага дагавора 1921 года Мёры адышлі да Польскай Рэспублікі, дзе сталі цэнтрам гміны Дзісенскага павета Віленскага ваяводства. У 1927 годзе тут 422 жыхары. Стаялі крама, аптэка, працавалі 2 млыны, да 1931 года дзейнічала запалкавая фабрыка.
Увосень 1939 года Мёры далучаны да БССР. 3 15 студзеня 1940 года яны цэнтр Мёрскага раёна Вілейскай вобласці.
У Вялікую Айчынную вайну 3 ліпеня 1941 года Мёры акупіравалі нацысцкія захопнікі. За перыяд акупацыі гітлераўцы загубілі ў Мёрах 662 чалавек. 2 чэрвеня 1942 года было ліквідавана 779 чалавек яўрэйскай нацыянальнасці з гета. Прыкладна 70—80 чалавек атрымалася збегчы[9]. 4 ліпеня 1944 года войскі 1-га Прыбалтыйскага фронту і партызаны вызвалілі Мёры ад захопнікаў.
У 1944 годзе Мёры ўключаны ў Полацкую, а ў 1954 годзе — у Маладзечанскую вобласці. 3 1960 года ў складзе Віцебскай вобласці. 7 жніўня 1957 года Мёрам нададзены статус гарадскога пасёлка[10].
Забудаваны Мёры пераважна 1-павярховымі дамамі, будуюцца і 2—5-павярховыя. Першы генеральны план гарадскога пасёлка складзены ў 1971 годзе. 7 студзеня 1972 года Мёрам нададзены статус горада[11]. У 1980 годзе распрацаваны наступны генеральны план забудовы горада. У горадзе ўтворана набярэжная. Прамысловая зона размешчана ў паўночна-заходняй і ўсходняй частках.
