Lista artystów z największą liczbą sprzedanych nagrań w Japonii
lista w projekcie Wikimedia Z Wikipedii, wolnej encyklopedii
Był to I ONLY LIVE TWICE(jap.
Sprzedał się w 3 milionach 256 tysięcy[40]. Do 1965 album Kimi to Itsumademo(jap.いつまでものキミ; Love Forever)Yūzō Kayamy był najlepiej sprzedającą się płytą w Japonii. Osiągnął dwumilionowy nakład[42]. Obecnie jest nim First LoveHikaru Utady z 1999. Jego debiut, cover utworu „Volevo un gatto nero” z 1969, „Kuroneko no Tango (jap. Największy nakład mieli The Ventures (40 milionów). Tym samym osiągnęli wyższy próg niż The Beatles przez całe lata 60. XX[52].
日本作曲家協会 ; skrót: JACOMPA)[61], podobnie do nagrody Grammy[62]. Najwięcej nagród, otrzymał boys bandExile[12]. Od 1987, przed archiwizacją certyfikatów, zaczęto przyznawać Japan Gold Disc Award(jap.
Są to: Hibari Misora, Hachirō Kasuga, Masahiko Kondō, Off Course, Mie Nakao, Chiyako Satō, Chiemi Eri, Linda Yamamoto, Teruhiko Saigō, Yukio Hashi, Kazuo Funaki, Junko Abe, Saori Mianami, Kiyoshi Maekawa, Akiko Wada, Mari Amachi, Ichimaru, Katsutaru Kouta, Hikaru Genji, Seikima-II, Hound Dog[67].
Zagraniczni
Od stycznia 2014 roku Recording Industry Association of Japan wprowadziło nowe, cyfrowe kategorie przyznawania wyróżnień takie jak m.in. sprzedaż komputerowa.

Niektóre źródła podają jednak, że sprzedaż ta wynosi 42 milionów egzemplarzy[146][147] (włączając w to nakład z wydawnictw muzycznych przed rokiem rozpoczęcia dokumentowania certyfikatów, czyli przed 1989 rokiem).
Niektóre źródła podają jednak, że sprzedaż ta wynosi 40 milionów egzemplarzy[165] (włączając w to nakład z wydawnictw muzycznych przed rokiem rozpoczęcia dokumentowania certyfikatów, czyli przed 1989 rokiem).
Wytwórnia artysty podaje jednak, że sprzedaż ta do 2011 roku wyniosła 25 milionów 100 tysięcy egzemplarzy[484] (włączając w to nakład z wydawnictw muzycznych przed rokiem rozpoczęcia dokumentowania certyfikatów, czyli przed 1989 rokiem).

Namie Amuro Biography [online], AllMusic [dostęp 2017-08-13], Cytat: Namie Amuro is Japanese pop’s most resilient idol. Debuting in 1992 with the all-girl five-piece Super Monkey’s, where she first caught the attention of Tetsuya Komuro, the producer/songwriter who would go on to shape her early career, Amuro has bounced back from hurdles that have felled lesser J-pop idols (namely raising a family and divorce) to remain on top. And like any J-pop starlet worth a theme song to a hit anime movie, Amuro has built up a solid rapport with her fans through her sense of style as much as for her music, which is essentially R&B-influenced pop, harder edged and more risqué than that of her rival Ayumi Hamasaki (...). Boøwy’s roots first took shape way back in 1979, when founding members Himuro Kyosuke and Hotei Tomoyasu were involved in a music contest in their hometown of Takasaki. In 1980, she left the band and formed Emmy with her former boyfriend, drummer Stephen Bray. Soon, Bray and Madonna broke off from the group and began working on some dance/disco-oriented tracks. The quintet released their first song in 2007, and rose to fame as figureheads of the Korean Wave -- the phenomena of Korean pop culture spreading internationally -- during the early 2010s.
