Вајсе Елстер[1][2][3] (германски: Weiße Elster, чешки: Bílý Halštrov) — 257 километри долга река во централна Европа, десна притока на Зале. Нејзиниот извор е во најзападниот дел на Чешка, близу Аш. По неколку километри, влегува во источна Германија. Во Германија, тече низ покраините Саксонија, Тирингија и Саксонија-Анхалт.

Иако „Elster“ на германски е „чавка“, потеклото на името нема ништо со птица. Има словенско потекло: alstrawa = брзајќи. Вајсе Елстер никогаш не се сретнува со Шварце Елстер, која тече од Лаузиц во Елба. Реките ги имаат имињата „вајсе“ и „шварце“ со цел да се разликуваат меѓусебе.
Вајсе Елстер тече низ градовите Плауен, Грајц, Гера, Цајц, Пегау и Лајпциг. Се влева во реката Зале кај Хале.
Во историјата на Наполеоновите војни, реката е позната како место на смртта на Јозеф Антони Поњатовски во 1813 г.
Вајсе Елстер се покажала катастрофална за француските трупи, кога се враќале од Лајпциг во октомври 1813.[2]
