它也可以由一、二或三苯基氯化錫和金屬鈉的還原反應得到。[2][3]
異氰酸苯酯和三苯基氫化錫的反應也能得到六苯基二錫。[4]
六苯基二錫在280 °C以上分解,[5]在紫外線下不穩定。[2][6]在250 °C以上,它會變黃。它也能和硫反應:
它可以和一些溶劑形成溶劑合物。[7]
它屬於單斜晶系,空間群P21/c。[8]
