南朝梁末年置，治所在東陽郡（今浙江省金華市區）。轄境相當今浙江省金華、東陽、永康、武義、浦江、淳安、建德等市縣和安徽省歙縣、黟縣等縣區域。隋朝開皇九年（589年）廢。
