剑齿虎属

剑齿虎属（Machairodus）通称为短剑虎或短剑剑齿虎，是生存于1100-1.2万年前欧洲、亚洲、非洲及北美洲的大型剑齿虎亚科动物。剑齿虎属的物种在体型及比例上有很大的差异，最大约有狮子的大小。它们有很大的犬齿，齿上有锯齿，但在几年内就会磨损。^[1]
