Darbu stasjon ligger på Darbu, langs Sørlandsbanen og 81,61 kilometer fra Oslo. Stasjonen ble åpnet i 1871 da Randsfjordbanens sidelinje Hokksund–Kongsberg sto ferdig.[1]

Samtlige av de nye stasjonsbygningene på Kongsbergbanen var tegnet av arkitekt Georg Andreas Bull som var en yngre bror av fiolinisten Ole Bull. Disse var sterkt inspirert av sveitserstilen som var populær i Europa på siste halvdel av 1800-tallet.[2] I 1997 vedtok Riksantikvaren å frede Darbu stasjon fordi de mente at denne var den best bevarte av jernbanebygningene som ble tegnet av Bull.[3]
