Elven Fossåa renner ut i Gudbrandsdalslågen ved Hundorp og Fossåa danner der en elvevifte.[1]
Tidligere holdt Gudbrandsdalens folkehøgskule til her.
Hundorp gård, også kjent som Dale-Gudbrands gard, er et historisk sted med røtter tilbake til 1000-tallet og var bostedet til Dale-Gudbrand. På 1800-tallet fungerte gården som sorenskrivergård, og den har også vært sete for Gudbrandsdal folkehøyskole i flere år. I år 2000 ble gården valgt som Oppland fylkes tusenårssted.[2]
Sentrum på Hundorp var tidligere rundt Hundorp Gård med Hundorp Stasjon, Hundorp Dagligvare og posthus. Etterhvert ble Hundorp sentrumsområdet rundt kommunesenteret som ligger et par kilometer lenger vest. Hundorp var tidligere det viktigste senteret i Gudbrandsdalen, men den eneste etterlevningen av dette er i dag den store åttekantede Sør-Fron kirke fra 1792 som er like ved dagens sentrum.
