Eid var en kommune i Nordfjord i tidligere Sogn og Fjordane, med administrasjonssenter på Nordfjordeid. Kommunen grenset i nord til Vanylven og Volda, i øst til Hornindal og Stryn, i sør over Nordfjorden til Gloppen og Bremanger, og i vest til Vågsøy og Selje.

Eid kommune og Selje kommune gikk 1. januar 2020 sammen til én kommune, Stad.[4] Grunnkretsene Totland, Bryggja og Maurstad i Vågsøy kommune blir også en del av den nye kommunen[5]
I Eid kommune ligger størstedelen av Norges dypeste innsjø, Hornindalsvatnet. Kommunens høyeste topp er Glitregga, som ligger på grensa mot Stryn kommune.
Kommunens tusenårssted er den gamle ekserserplassen på Nordfjordeid. I dagligtale kalles den «Plassen» eller «Malakoff».
Eid er inndelt i 3 delområder og 24 grunnkretser.
Eid er kjent som en kommune med sterkt frivillig engasjement. Dette er en drivkraft bak Malakoff Rockfestival og Opera Nordfjord. Andre frivillige lag og organisasjoner i kommunen:
