അമേരിക്കൻ ഐക്യനാടുകളുടെ അഞ്ചാമത്തെ പ്രസിഡന്റായിരുന്നു ജയിംസ് മൺറോ(ജനനം: 1758 ഏപ്രിൽ 28- മരണം: 1831 ജൂലൈ 04). അമേരിക്കൻ ഐക്യനാടുകളുടെ സ്ഥാപക നേതാക്കളിൽ ഒരാളാണ് ഇദ്ദേഹം. അമേരിക്കൻ പ്രസിഡന്റായ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥാപക നേതാക്കളിൽ അവസാനത്തെ ആളും വെർജിനിയൻ വാഴ്ചയിൽ നിന്ന് പ്രസിഡന്റായ അവസാനത്തെയാളുമായിരുന്നു ജയിംസ് മൺറോ.[1]

വെർജീനിയയിലെ വെസ്റ്റ്‌മോർലാൻഡ് കൺട്രിയിലെ ഒരു കുടിയേറ്റ കർഷക കുടുംബത്തിൽ ആണ് ജനനം. അമേരിക്കൻ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യസമരത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തു. 1817 മാർച്ച് മുതൽ 1825 മാർച്ച് വരെ അമേരിക്കൻ പ്രസിഡന്റായി സേവനം അനുഷ്ടിച്ചു. ട്രെൻടൺ യുദ്ധത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുത്ത അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് തോളിന് പരിക്കേറ്റിരുന്നു.
