Matthaeus Thornton (natus in Hibernia anno 1714; mortuus in Newburyport, Massachusetta die 24 Iunii 1803), medicus, fuit politicorum peritus Americanus unus ex Conditoribus Civitatum Foederatarum. Nam Thornton, qui inter alia in Conventu Continentali Novae Hantoniae legatus fuit, Declarationem Libertatis subscripsit.
