Huddie Gulielmus Ledbetter (natus Huddie William Ledbetter Mooringsport in vico Ludovicianae, 20 Ianuarii 1888; mortuus Novi Eboraci 6 Decembris 1949) fuit musicus vulgaris et blues Americanus, qui ob vocem validam, sollertiam citharae chordarum duodecim, carmen "Goodnight, Irene," et librum carminum normarum vulgarium quas introduxerat innotuit. Usitate Lead Belly[1] nomine scaenico appellatur. Multi disci eum Leadbelly appellant; ipse autem Lead Belly scripsit. Hoc praeterea est nomen in eius stela sculptum,[2][3] parsque nominis Societatis Fundatae Leadbellianae (Anglice Lead Belly Foundation).[4]
Lead Belly, quamquam cithara chordarum duodecim canere solebat, clavile, mandolina, harmonica, violina, et windjammer (harmonio diatonico) quoque canere poterat.[5] In nonnullis discis, canit cum manus complodit vel pedem supplodit.
