Albi montes,[1] Graece eádem significatione τὰ λευκὰ ὄρη[2] aut nomine Cretico recentiori Μαδάρες scil. "calvi", sunt iuga montium Cretae occidentalis alta et perpetua. Cacumen excelsissimum, nomine hodierno Πάχνες (Pachnes scil. "nebulae"), semel linguá Graeca classica Λευκὸν ὅρος[3] leucon oros appellatum est, scilicet "Albus mons". Ad altitudinem 2453 metrorum surgit, monte Ida fere aequale.
