Washingtonia[2] est genus plantarum florentium familiae Arecacearum, in Civitatibus Foederatis meridio-occidentalibus endemicum, accuratius in California meridiana, Arizona meridio-occidentali, et Mexico (California Inferiori septentrionali et Sonora). Generi sunt duae species, quarum ambae per Civitates Foederatis coluntur, et in Medio Oriente et Europa meridiana (e.g., Croatia), ubi maxime hybridizatur.
Sodales sunt tribus Coryphearum, folia habentes quorum petiolum nudum in flabella rotunda multorum foliorum finitur. Flores in densa inflorescentia sunt. Fructus maturi sunt parvae drupae atrae-fuscae 6–10 mm latae, tenue propagine carnis dulcis super singulo semine.[3]
Fructus edulis et ab Indis Americanis pro minore victus fonte adhibitus est. Editur quoque ab avibus.
