1991 թվականին դարձել է Լոնդոնի թագավորական ընկերություն անդամ, իսկ 1999 թվականին՝ ԱՄՆ-ի գիտությունների ազգային ակադեմիայի օտարերկրյա անդամ։
2015 թվականի հունիսի 9-ին Թիմ Հանտը ելույթ է ունեցել Հարավային Կորեայի մայրաքաղաք Սեուլում կայացած գիտական լրագրության գիտաժողովի պաշտոնական ընթրիքի ժամանակ։ Իր ողջույնի խոսքում, ինչպես հայտնի է դարձել[11], նա ասել է.
