Omaninlahti (arab. خليج عمان; khalīj ʿumān, pers. دریای عمان;daryā-ye ʿomān) on oikeastaan Intian valtameren sivumeri tai salmi, joka yhdistää Arabianmeren Hormuzinsalmen kautta Persianlahdelle.[1][2]
Omaninlahden pohjoisranta kuuluu Iranille ja Pakistanille, lounaisrannalla ovat Arabiemiirikunnat ja Oman. Noin 560 kilometriä pitkä Omaninlahti on itäpäästään noin 320 kilometriä leveä.[2] Omaninlahden luoteisrajalla, ennen Persianlahden suun Hormuzinsalmen kapeinta osaa, meriväylä on kaventunut jo noin 85 kilometrin levyiseksi.
Merialueella kalastetaan jonkin verran, mutta strategisesti keskeistä on Omaninlahden tarjoama meritie Persianlahden öljyntuotantoalueelle. Maailman tärkeimmillä öljyntuoja- ja viejämailla on siksi suuri kiinnostus alueen turvallisuudesta. [2]
Kansainvälinen hydrografinen järjestö (IHO) määrittelee Omaninlahden rajat seuraavasti (1953):[3]
