Etymology 1
luo- + -(k) (k-lative singular), from Proto-Finnic *loo-, possibly from Proto-Uralic *luwe (“downstream”). Related to Ingrian looks (~ luokse), Karelian luoh (~ luo) and Veps lon (~ luona).
