On 16 December 2022, while serving as the club's sporting director, Laurikainen appointed himself the head coach of Turun Palloseura (TPS) for the 2023 season.[2] After the season, it was announced that Laurikainen will leave out from the club.[3]
On 30 August 2024, it was reported that Laurikainen would start as an academy director of Estonian Meistriliiga club Paide Linnameeskond.[4]
