Mit elf Nominierungen hatte Bob Fosses Cabaret im Vorfeld der Verleihung als großer Favorit gegolten und war mit sieben gewonnenen BAFTAs schließlich auch der Gewinner des Abends. Zu den Verlierern gehörte Stanley Kubricks Uhrwerk Orange, das bei sieben Nominierungen leer ausging.
