Bruny (deutsch Brune) ist eine Ortschaft in Oberschlesien. Der Ort liegt in der Gmina Wołczyn in der Woiwodschaft Opole in Polen.

Das Straßendorf Bruny liegt im nordwestlichen Teil Oberschlesiens im Kreuzburger Land. Bruny liegt rund vierzehn Kilometer nördlich vom Gemeindesitz Wołczyn, rund 22 Kilometer nordwestlich der Kreisstadt Kluczbork und etwa 57 Kilometer nordöstlich der Woiwodschaftshauptstadt Opole (Oppeln). Der Ort liegt in der Niziny Środkowopolskie (Mittelpolnische Tiefebene) innerhalb der Wysoczyzna Wieruszowska (Weruschauer Hochebene).
Ortsteile von Bruny sind Jędrzejowice (Kolonie Andreaswille) und Chomącko (Kolonie Sacken).
Nachbarorte von Bruny sind im Norden Komorzno (Reinersdorf), im Nordosten Jakubowice (Jakobsdorf) und im Südwesten Krzywiczyny (Schönfeld).
Der Ortsname leitet sich vom slawischen Wort Brona (dt. Egge) ab, einem landwirtschaftlichen Bodenbearbeitungsgerät.[2]
Nach der Neuorganisation der Provinz Schlesien gehörte die Landgemeinde Brune ab 1816 zum Landkreis Kreuzburg O.S. im Regierungsbezirk Breslau. 1838 wird im Dorf eine evangelische Schule eingerichtet. 1845 bestand das Dorf aus einem Schloss, einer evangelischen Schule, einer katholischen Schule und weiteren 69 Häusern. Im gleichen Jahr lebten in Brune 587 Menschen, davon 43 katholisch und 10 jüdisch.[3] 1874 wird der Amtsbezirk Jakobsdorf gegründet, zudem Brune gehörte.[4]
Bei der Volksabstimmung in Oberschlesien am 20. März 1921 stimmten in Brune 370 Wahlberechtigte für einen Verbleib bei Deutschland und 11 für Polen.[5] Brune verblieb beim Deutschen Reich. 1933 lebten in Brune 414 Menschen. 1939 hatte der Ort wiederum 382 Einwohner. Bis 1945 gehörte das Dorf zum Landkreis Kreuzburg O.S.[6]
Als Folge des Zweiten Weltkriegs fiel Brune 1945 wie der größte Teil Schlesiens an Polen. Nachfolgend wurde der Ort in Bruny umbenannt und der Woiwodschaft Schlesien angeschlossen. 1950 wurde es der Woiwodschaft Opole eingegliedert. 1999 kam der Ort zum neu gegründeten Powiat Kluczborski (Kreis Kreuzburg).
