Proteini transformirajuće kisela upredene zavojnice su iz porodice konzerviranih sekvenci centrosoma – mikrotubula –interaktivni proteini koji su uključeni u kancere. Ovaj gen kodira protein koji se tokom ćelijskog ciklusa koncentrira u centrosomima. Ovaj gen leži unutar hromozomke regije povezane sa tumorigenezom. Smatra se da ekspresija ovog gena utiče na progresiju tumora dojke . Ekspresiju ovog gena također inducira eritropoetin.[6]
