Lizofosfolipaze su enzimi koji djeluju na biološke membrane, kako bi regulirali multifunkcionalne lizofosfolipide. Protein kodiran ovim genom hidrolizira lizofosfatidilholin u glicerofosforilholin i slobodnu masnu kiselinu. Ovaj enzim je prisutan u plazmi i smatra se da je povezan sa lipoproteinom velike gustoćee. Kasniji članak proturječi funkciji ovog gena. Dokazuje da ovaj gen kodira lizosomski enzim umjesto lizofosfolipaze i da ima i kalcij neovisnu fosfolipazu A2 i transakcilazne aktivnosti.[7]
