望遠鏡座

望遠鏡座是南天小星座，屬18世紀法國天文學家尼可拉·路易·拉卡伊命名的12個星座之列，與其他多個星座一樣以科學儀器命名，原名「Telescopium」源自拉丁化古希臘語，意為望遠鏡。拉卡伊劃分的望遠鏡座很大，但後輩弗朗西斯·貝利和班傑明·阿普索普·古爾德將其大幅縮小。

3.5視星等的鱉一是望遠鏡座最亮恆星，屬藍白次巨星；其次是4.1視星等的橙巨星望遠鏡座ζ。望遠鏡座η和望遠鏡座PZ是擁有岩屑盤和棕矮星伴星的年輕恆星系統。望遠鏡座有兩顆含氫極少的罕見恆星，很可能是兩顆白矮星合併的產物：望遠鏡座PV又稱HD 168476，是熾熱的藍色極端氦星，望遠鏡座RS是北冕座R型變星。望遠鏡座RR是激變變星，1948年曾爆發為新星，亮度達到6視星等。望遠鏡座還包含人類所知第一個擁有黑洞的可見恆星系統HR 6819，屬肉眼可見變星，視星等在5.32至5.39範圍變化。

歷史

法國天文學家尼可拉·路易·拉卡伊在好望角停留兩年，觀察並分類上萬顆南天恆星，然後在1751至1752年率先劃定望遠鏡座，使用的法語名為「le Telescope」^[1]，意指航空望遠鏡^[2]。他在南天球上歐洲無法觀測的區域劃出14個星座，其中13個用象徵啟蒙時代的科學儀器命名^[3]。望遠鏡座橫跨40度夜空^[2]，在人馬座和天蠍座間向北延伸^[4]。1763年，拉卡伊已將星座名稱拉丁化為「Telescopium」^[1]。

望遠鏡座還有其他名稱，18世紀曾叫「Tubus Astronomicus」，在此期間人類共承認三個以望遠鏡命名的星座，另外兩個分別是位於雙子座與御夫座之間的大反射望遠鏡座，以及金牛座和御夫座之間的小反射望遠鏡座，後兩個都在19世紀結束前停用^[5]。約翰·波得1805年所圖星圖將望遠鏡座起名「Astronomische Fernrohr」並保持原本劃定的尺寸，但後來的天文學家弗朗西斯·貝利與班傑明·阿普索普·古爾德都將望遠鏡座縮小^[6]。許多很亮的恆星劃入其他星座，拉卡伊把人馬座的箕宿四劃入望遠鏡座成為望遠鏡座β，但被後世的天文學家撤消^[7]。古爾德把望遠鏡座γ劃入天蠍座並更名天蠍座G^[7]，望遠鏡座θ是拉卡伊劃入望遠鏡座的蛇夫座恆星，後世天文學家將它送回蛇夫座^[7]；望遠鏡座σ劃入南冕座，起初沒有列入星表，後來得名HR 6875^[7]。拉卡伊起名望遠鏡座η的天體是疏散星團托勒密星團，如今位於天蠍座，古爾德認為視星座達到5的恆星就可以用拜耳命名法分配希臘字母，所以曾為其中一顆恆星命名^[7]。

簡介

望遠鏡座可用肉眼識別

望遠鏡座面積較小，北接人馬座和南冕座，西臨天壇座，南挨孔雀座，東靠印第安座，東北角還碰到顯微鏡座。1922年，國際天文聯會確定以三字母縮寫「Tel」代指望遠鏡座。^[8]1930年，尤金·德爾波特正式劃分星座邊界，望遠鏡座是四邊形（見文首信息框）。根據赤道坐標系統，星座赤經位於18^h 09.1^m和20^h 29.5^m之間，赤緯位於−45.09°到−56.98°之間。^[9]北緯33度線以南才能看到完整的望遠鏡座^{[10][注 1]}。

顯著特點

望遠鏡座共有57顆恆星亮度不低於6.5視星等^{[注 2][10]}，其中又以3.5視星等的藍白次巨星鱉一最亮，光譜等級B3IV，距地球約250光年^[12]。它的輻射強度約為太陽光度800倍，質量與半徑估計分別是太陽的5.2±0.4和3.3±0.5倍^[13]。鱉一不遠處兩顆藍白恆星共同組成望遠鏡座δ，其中偏亮的一顆為4.9視星等，光譜等級B6IV^[14]；另一顆5.1視星等，光譜等級B3III^[15]。估計兩星相距710到1190光年^[16]，組成光學雙星^[17]。12.23視星等的暗淡紅矮星葛利斯754光譜等級M4.5V，距地球僅19.3光年，屬離地球最近的100顆恆星^[18]。該星圍繞銀河系的軌道離心率表明它有可能源自銀河系厚盤^[19]。

15顆肉眼就能看見的恆星中至少有四顆巨星光譜等級達到K^[20]。4.1視星等的望遠鏡座ζ是星座第二亮恆星，屬光譜等級K1III-IV的橙次巨星^[21]，質量約為太陽1.53倍，但光度達512倍^[22]，離地球約127光年，外觀呈黃色^[17]或紅色^[23]。望遠鏡座ε是距地球417光年的聯星^[24][25]，其中偏亮的是橙巨星，視星等4.52，光譜等級K0III^[26]，另一顆距主星21角秒，亮度僅13視星等，夜晚用15厘米光圈望遠鏡才能看到^[24]。四顆巨星剩下的兩顆分別是望遠鏡座ι和HD 169405^[20]，都是5視星等的橙巨星，光譜等級分別為K0III和K0.5III^[27][28]，與太陽分別相隔370和497光年^[25]。望遠鏡座κ是5.18視星等的衰老黃巨星，光譜等級G9III^[29]。該星約有18.7億年歷史，約1.6倍太陽質量，但已膨脹至11倍太陽直徑^[30]。估計它距地球293光年，同樣屬光學雙星^[24]。

望遠鏡座ξ是不規則變星，視星等在4.89至4.94範圍變動^[31]，距地球1079光年，直徑約為太陽5.6倍，是光譜等級M2III的紅巨星^[32]，光度約達太陽2973倍^[25]。紅超巨星望遠鏡座RX也是不規則變星，視星等在6.45到7.47範圍變化^[33]，肉眼在理想夜空條件下勉強可見。望遠鏡座BL是類似大陵五型變星的食雙星，視星等以778天為周期在7.09到9.08範圍變化^[34]。其中的主星是黃超巨星，視星等也會變化^[35]。望遠鏡座RS的視星等逐漸降低，已從9.6降至16.5^[36]，屬罕見的北冕座R型變星，這種超巨星含氫極少，估計是兩顆白矮星合併而成，截至2012年人類發現的還不足100顆^[37]。估計星體排出碳塵形成遮擋，導致視星等下降，截至2012年人類已發現四次下降過程^[37]。望遠鏡座PV是B級（藍色）極端氦星，是望遠鏡座PV型變星的原型，1952年首度發現，氫含量極低。科學家推斷它是氦白矮星與碳氧白矮星合併而成。兩者的質量總和未超錢德拉塞卡極限，氦白矮星就附在碳氧白矮星上並爆發成超巨星，此後變成極端氦星，再冷卻成白矮星。^[38]

望遠鏡座RR又稱「望遠鏡座新星1948」，歷史上通常視為慢新星，如今歸入共生變星，包括光譜等級M5III的脈衝紅巨星和白矮星，1944至1948年間亮度提升七等，1948年達到6.0視星等的顛峰^[39]。此後緩慢變暗，如今僅有12視星等^[40]。望遠鏡座QS是白矮星和捐助主序星構成的聯星，兩星距離很近，足以潮汐鎖定成高偏振星，捐助星物質不在白矮星周圍形成吸積盤，而是直接流入白矮星^[41]。這種情況主要是因為白矮星磁場太強^[42]。

人類沒有發現望遠鏡座任何恆星擁有行星，但部分恆星有棕矮星相伴。望遠鏡座η是5.0視星等的年輕白主序星，光譜等級A0V^[43]，屬形成1200萬年的繪架座β移動星群，與星群中其他恆星的運動態勢基本一致^[44]。它擁有岩屑盤和光譜等級M7V或M8V的棕矮星，後者質量約為木星20到50倍^[44]。望遠鏡座η系統成分複雜，受恆星HD 181327重力約束，兩者運動態勢相同。HD 181327也有岩屑盤，^[45]屬7.0視星等的黃-白主序星，光譜等級F6V^[46]。望遠鏡座PZ也是帶有岩屑盤和棕矮星伴侶的年輕恆星，雖只形成2400萬年，但在繪架座β移動星群已屬「老態龍鍾」^[47]。HD 191760是光譜等級G3IV/V的黃次巨星（即正在冷卻和膨脹的主序星），估計只有400餘萬年歷史，質量約是太陽的1.1到1.3倍，光度2.69倍，半徑1.62倍。人類通過ESO 3.6米望遠鏡的高精度徑向速度行星搜索器觀測後發現它有38倍木星質量的棕矮星相伴，軌道與恆星的平均距離是1.35天文單位，公轉周期505天。兩者距離短到異常，人類認為恆星周圍5天文單位範圍都是棕矮星沙漠。^[48]

黑洞

望遠鏡座包含人類所知第一個擁有黑洞的可見恆星系統。望遠鏡座QV又稱HR 6819，是肉眼可見的三合星系統，視星等在5.32到5.39範圍變動，位於星座西南角，與天壇座和孔雀座相鄰。三合星內有兩顆B類巨星，偏內側的光譜等級B3III，外側是Be星，第三顆是目前觀測手段還看不到的恆星質量伴星，與內側巨星形成聯星，軌道周期40.33天。科學家推測這顆伴星便是沒有吸積盤的恆星黑洞，質量至少是太陽四倍。望遠鏡座QV距地球1120光年，是已知距離最近的黑洞可見恆星系統。^[49]

深空天體

NGC 6584球狀星團坐落在天壇座θ附近，離地球4.5萬光年^[50]，屬奧斯特霍夫一型星團，至少包含69顆變星，其中大部分是天琴座RR型變星^[51]。13視星等的IC 4699行星狀星雲位於鱉一和望遠鏡座ε之間的中途位置^[50]。

IC 4889是11.3視星等的橢圓星系，位於5.3視星等的望遠鏡座ν西北偏西方向兩度，用40厘米望遠鏡觀測能看到中心區域和光暈^[52]。望遠鏡座東北部的星系群占據三度夜空，包含12個星系，距銀河系約37秒差距（1.2億光年）^[23]，其中最亮的是NGC 6868橢圓星系^[53]，其西側的NGC 6861是螺旋星系，但也可能是透鏡狀星系^[23]。望遠鏡座星系群中就以這兩個星系最亮，未來將會合併^[53]。NGC 6845包含四個相互作用的星系，其中螺旋星系和透鏡狀星系各兩個，占據面積約4角分×2角分，估計距地球約88秒差距（2.87億光年）^[54]。2008年6月，人類在NGC 6845的螺旋星系NGC 6845A內發現II型超新星SN 2008da^[55]。1998年4月，人類在ESO184-G82星系的螺旋臂發現超新星SN 1998bw，估計很可能是伽瑪射線暴GRB 980425的源頭^{[注 3][56]}。

注釋

1. 技術上來說望遠鏡座部分位置會出現在北緯33度到44度之間的地面線上方，但只高於地平線幾度的恆星無論通過何等手段都無法觀測^[10]。
2. 6.5視星等是肉眼在城鄉結合位置理想夜空條件下能看到的光線最微弱天體^[11]。
