20世紀60年代,歐洲裔對伊努克提圖特語的態度開始轉變。因紐特語開始被視為一種值得保留的語言,有人認為,在學校的最初幾年,應當用母語傳授知識。這引發了雙語學校的建立。1969年,大部分因紐特人投票決定取消聯邦學校,取而代之的則是新魁北克總司(法語:Direction générale du Nouveau-Québec)的計劃。課程由伊努克提圖特語、英語和法語教授。[9]
