弗雷德里克·弗朗索瓦·蕭邦(法語:Frédéric François Chopin,法語發音:[ʃɔpɛ̃];1810年3月1日—1849年10月17日[註 1]),原名弗里德里克·弗朗齊歇克·蕭邦(波蘭語:Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin,亦稱Szopen),波蘭作曲家和鋼琴家,他是歷史上甚有影響力和受歡迎的鋼琴作曲家,波蘭音樂史上極重要的人物,也是歐洲19世紀浪漫主義音樂的代表人物。
1838年11月喬治·桑帶着她的兩個孩子莫里斯和索朗熱(Solange)移居西班牙的馬略卡島。而蕭邦也一同搬到了馬略卡,蕭邦一生患有肺結核,他也希望溫暖的氣候能夠緩解他的病痛,但是事與願違,莫里斯的病情有了明顯好轉,而蕭邦的肺結核卻因為房間條件差,加上糟糕的天氣,發展成了肺炎。98天後蕭邦和喬治·桑離開了馬略卡,這段旅程雖短,但是對蕭邦和喬治·桑都印象深刻,喬治·桑將這段經歷記錄在了她的小說《馬略卡島上的冬天(英語:A Winter in Majorca)》中。
