Berthon oʻzining xalqaro kartingdagi faoliyatini 2006-yilda boshlagan. Eng yaxshi natijalari Copa Campeones Trophy ICA toifasida uchinchi oʻrin va Fransiya chempionati Elita toifasida beshinchi oʻrin. Keyingi yili u yana bir bor Fransiya chempionatining Elita toifasida beshinchi oʻrinni egalladi. Shuningdek, u Janubiy Gar qishki kubok bahslari hisoblangan KF1da sakkizinchi va KF1 jahon kubogi poygalarida 13-o‘rinni egalladi.
2008-yilda Berthon Formula Renault 2.0 Gʻarbiy Yevropa kubogida Boutsen Energy Racing jamoasi safida ishtirok etgan. Bir qancha Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 seriyalarida qatnashgan. Keyinchalik bir oʻrindiqli avtomoil poygalariga oʻtdi. Nathanaël Berthon Gʻarbiy Yevropa kubogida toʻrt marotaba oʻrin oldi. Gʻarbiy Yevropa kubogida toʻqqiz ball jamgʻarib, 18-oʻrinni egallagan. Berthon 2009-yil mavsumda Boutsen Energy Racing jamoasi bilan shartnomasini uzaytiramadi. U Ispaniyaning Epsilon Euskadi jamoasi uchun poygalarda ishtirok eta boshladi. Jamoadoshi Albert Costa texnik qoidabuzarlik uchun diskvalifikatsiya qilinganidan keyin u Barselonadagi ilk Yevrokubok poygasida ishtirok etdi va gʻalaba qozondi.[2] Shundan so‘ng u Hungaroring poygasida yana bir bor shohsupaga ko‘tarildi. Turnirning yakuniy jadvalida oltinchi o‘rinni egalladi[3].
2010-yil iyul oyida Berthon Formula 3da ART Grand Prix jamoasi tarkibida debyutini oʻtkazdi. U Spa-Francorchampsda boʻlib oʻtgan Britaniya Formula 3 chempionatida ham ishtirok etdi. Dam olish kunlaridagi sprint musobaqasida 13-oʻrinni egalladi.
2015-yil 17-oktyabrda Berthon 2015-2016-yilgi mavsumda Antonio Feliks da Kosta bilan Aguri jamoasida hamkor boʻlishini eʼlon qilindi[4].
