Rastvarač aceton ima primetnog uticaja na osobine hromne kiseline. Oksidacija je veoma brza, egzotermna, i prinosi su tipično visoki. Ovaj reagens retko oksiduje nezasićene veze.
Hromijum ostatak je veoma toksičan, i mora se obratiti pažnja da je uklonjen na korektan način.
