Turqit qipriotë

Turqitë qipriotë (Turqisht: Kıbrıs Türkleri ose Kıbrıslı Türkler; Greqisht: Τουρκοκύπριοι, Tourkokýprioi) janë kryesisht turq etnikë me origjinë nga Qipro.

Pas pushtimit osman të ishullit më 1571, rreth 30,000 kolonëve turq iu dha toka sapo të mbërrinin në Qipro. Për më tepër, shumë prej ishujve u konvertuan në Islam gjatë viteve të para të sundimit osman. Fluksi i kolonëve myslimanë kryesisht në Qipro vazhdoi me ndërprerje deri në fund të periudhës osmane. Sot, ndërsa Qiproja Veriore është shtëpia e një pjese të konsiderueshme të popullsisë turke qipriote, shumica e turqve qipriotë jetojnë jashtë, duke formuar mërgatën turke qipriote. Kjo mërgatë erdhi në ekzistencë pasi Perandoria Osmane transferoi kontrollin e ishullit në Perandorinë Britanike, pasi shumë turq qipriotë emigruan kryesisht në Turqi dhe Mbretërinë e Bashkuar për arsye politike dhe ekonomike. Turqishtja standarde është gjuha zyrtare e Qipros Veriore. Gjuha e folur nga turqit qipriotë është turqishtja qipriote, e cila është ndikuar fuqimisht nga greqishtja qipriote.
