The Khokhar[1] are an indigenous tribal affilation from Punjab region of Pakistan In case of India they were mainly classified as Jats and Rors on the other hand they were classified as Mohammadan tribesman with a high social status. It is certain that Khokhars follow Hinduism and Sikhism and are predominantly Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims
According to the medieval history, the Khokhars mostly lived in the Salt Range in the Northern Punjab and they have been a very dominant landowning tribe. However Khokhars were the most powerful and influential tribe of Punjab from 13th to 19th century.
