Burlington is a city in Coffey County, Kansas, United States.[4] It is also the county seat of Coffey County. In 2020, 2,634 people lived there.[3]

Burlington was created in 1857.[5] It was named after Burlington, Vermont, the native home of one of its creators.[6]
The first post office in Burlington was created in 1858. It was taken from the town of Hampden.[7]
Burlington is at 38°11′36″N 95°44′44″W (38.193289, -95.745428). The United States Census Bureau says that the city has a total area of 2.23 square miles (5.78 km2). Of that, 2.21 square miles (5.72 km2) is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 km2) is water.[2]
Burlington has hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. The Köppen Climate Classification system says that Burlington has a humid subtropical climate, abbreviated "Cfa" on climate maps.[8]
The 2020 census says that there were 2,634 people, 1,136 households, and 648 families living in the city. Of the households, 64.9% owned their home and 35.1% rented their home.
The median age was 42.7 years. Of the people, 90.7% were White, 1.0% were Black, 0.9% were Asian, 0.5% were Native American, 0.8% were from some other race, and 6.2% were two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.3% of the people.[3][9]
The 2010 census says that there were 2,674 people, 1,138 households, and 699 families residing in the city.[10]
