Robert Browning

Robert Browning (7. maj 1812 – 12. decembar 1889) bio je engleski pjesnik i dramski pisac, poznat po dramskih stihovima, a posebno dramskim monolozima zahvaljujući kojima je stekao popularnost i postao jedan od najistaknutijih književnika viktorijanskog doba.

Browning je poznat i kao suprug pjesnikinje Elizabeth Barrett Browning, za koju se oženio usprkos žestokog protivljenja njene porodice. Ti su događaji 1930. postali predmet popularne drame The Barretts of Wimpole Street Rudolfa Besiera, kao i dva po njoj snimljena filma, u kojima su Browningov lik tumačili Fredric March i Bill Travers.
