Zagađenje je svako unošenje štetnih materija (npr. azotnih i sumpornih oksida, neorganskih materija, teških metala, itd) u staništa/ekosisteme, koje dovodi do promena u sastavu živog sveta i smanjenja njegove raznovrsnosti.^[1]
