Amur Oblast

Amur Oblast (Roushie: Аму́рская о́бласть, Amurskaya oblast) is a federal subject o Roushie (an oblast), situatit on the banks o the Amur an Zeya Rivers. It shares its mairch wi the Sakha Republic in the north, Khabarovsk Krai an the Jewish Autonomous Oblast in the east, Cheenae in the sooth, an Zabaykalsky Krai in the wast. Population: 830,103 (2010 Census).[7]

Amur Krai (Аму́рский край) or Priamurye (Приаму́рье) wur unoffeecial names for the Roushie territories bi the Amur River uised in the late Roushie Empire that approximately correspond tae modren Amur Oblast.
The admeenistrative center o the oblast, the ceety o Blagoveshchensk, is ane o the auldest settlements in the Roushie Far East, foondit in 1856. It is a traditional centre o tred an gowd minin. The territory is accessed bi twa railroads, the Trans-Siberian railway an the Baikal Amur Mainline.
