Wieś królewska położona w II połowie XVI wieku w powiecie kruszwickim województwa brzeskokujawskiego, należała do starostwa kruszwickiego[4]. W latach 1975–1998 miejscowość administracyjnie należała do województwa bydgoskiego.
Według Narodowego Spisu Powszechnego (III 2011 r.) wieś liczyła 278 mieszkańców[1]. Jest jedenastą co do wielkości miejscowością gminy Kruszwica.
Według rejestru zabytków NID[5] na listę zabytków wpisany jest zespół dworski z 2 poł. XIX w., nr rej.: A/218/1-4 z 5.06.1987:
