Åsta er en bygd i Åmot kommune i Innlandet. Åsta ligger ca. 7 km sør for Rena i Østerdalen og er sentrert om elven Åstas utløp i Glomma vestfra. Bebyggelsen ligger på begge sider av Glomma, med størst konsentrasjon langs Vidar Sandbecks veg på sørsiden av Åstaelven. De to sidene av Glomma bindes sammen av Glomstadfoss bru. Dette er imidlertid en smal hengebro med en vektbegrening på halvannet tonn.[1][2] Riksvei 3 krysser Åsta på Åsta bru. Den første broen kom i 1903,[3] mens dagens bro er fra 2014.[4] Den tidligere broen går parallelt med riksvei 3 og brukes til lokaltrafikk.

Det var kamper ved Åsta i aprildagene 1940.[5]
I tidligere tider var det tømmerfløting i Åsta, men fløtingen i Glommas sideelver ble praktisk talt avviklet tidlig på 1970-tallet.[6]
Åsta var 4. januar 2000 åsted for Åstaulykken, som krevde 19 menneskeliv. Den tidligere stasjonen ligger nord for Åsta-elven og øst for riksvei 3. Det står et minnesmerke over ulykken ved en rasteplass ved avkjørselen til stasjonen, og like ved siden av dette er et krigsminnesmerke.
