Molde domkirke prestegjeld, inntil 1983 benevnt Molde prestegjeld, var et prestegjeld tilhørende Molde domprosti. Det omfattet sogn i Molde kommune i Møre og Romsdal fylke, og hovedkirken var Molde domkirke.
Molde domkirkes kirkesogn er nå en del av Molde kirkelige fellesråd, og underlagt Molde domprosti i Møre bispedømme i Den norske kirke.
Da kirkeordningen i ble organisert i katolsk tid lå Molde under Bolsøy, som var annekssogn til Veøy prestegjeld. De to annekskirkene lå på Kleive og Bolsøya, og det var til sistnevnte befolkningen i Molde sognet. Å legge kirken på en øy var veldig praktisk i fjordstrøk på denne tiden, ettersom det meste av transport forgikk vannveien, selv om det i uvær var besværlig å ta seg frem til kirken. Molde fikk sin første kirke omkring 1661, hvilket var en korskirke med 475 plasser. Det kan synes som en overmåte stor kirke til et ladested på omkring 500 innbyggere.[1]
Ved kgl.res. av 18. november 1740 ble det vidløftige Vedøy prestegjeld delt, ved at Bolsøy, Molde og Kleive sogn ble eget Bolsøe prestegjeld.[2] Ved kgl.res. av 12. januar 1858 ble Bolsø og Molde Præstegjeld [delt] i tvende Sognekald:[3]
Sognegrensen og derved bygrensen mellom Molde og Bolsøy ble endret 26. mars 1915, 1. april 1970 og 1. januar 1981, slik at de bymessige strøkene kom under Molde sogn og Molde kommune.[2]
Fra opprettelsen av Møre bispedømme i 1983, ved delingen av Bjørgvin og Nidaros bispedømmer, ble Molde kirke benevnt Molde domkirke. og Molde prestegjeld gitt navnet Molde domkirke prestegjeld.
Fra 2004 ble prestegjeldene som administrativ enhet faset ut av Den norske kirke, og fra 2012 gikk de også ut av lovverket.[4]
