«Londonderry Air» er en salme fra Irland, spesielt fra Nord-Irland. Den er populær og meget sunget blant irskættede verden over.
Den er en folkemelodi som ble påstått nedtegnet av Jane Ross (1810–1879) fra Limavady, Londonderry, og ble først publisert i Limavady i 1855 av folkemusikksamleren George Petrie (1789–1866), da med angivelse »ukjent opprinnelse».
Jane Ross påsto at hun hadde skrevet den ned fra harpemusiker, men siden melodien mangler de karakteristiske trekk fra tradisjonell, irsk harpemusikk antar man at Jane Ross er den egentlige komponisten. På midten av 1800-tallet var det en romantisk tanke om finne skjult kultur i folkedypet, en såkalt folkekultur, noe forskerne nå avviser, spesielt siden ingen annen versjon eller variant av melodien er blitt nedtegnet av andre folkeminnegranskere.
Jane Ross' hus eksisterer fortsatt og har fått en minneplakett:
Det er bortimot hundre ulike tekster knyttet til melodien. En av de mest kjente er «Danny Boy», som er spesielt populær i irske miljøer USA og benyttes ofte i begravelser. Den første strofen lyder Oh Danny Boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling... og var skrevet av en engelskmann, advokaten Frederic Edward Weatherly (1848–1929), som faktisk aldri besøkte Irland.
Den første teksten som er knyttet til melodien regnes som sikkert å være «The Confession of Devorgilla», også kjent som «Oh! shrive me, father».
Den mest brukte teksten i Norge er «In Derry vale, ...» er skrevet av W. G. Rothery. For tekst og melodi, se ekstern lenke nedenfor.
Melodien spilles ofte under bisettelser.
Bengt Sigurd har skrevet en svensk tekst. Den svenske tittelen er «Jag saknar dig». Gunnar Wiklund med Sven-Olof Walldoffs orkester spilte den inn i Stockholm i 1965. I Norge ble sangen utgitt på singlen His Master's Voice 45-AL 6135. Arrangør var Ken Wall.
Yngvar Johansen har skrevet en kristen norsk tekst. På norsk bærer den tittelen «På tidens hav».
