Kim Choong-soo (født 6. juni 1947) er en sørkoreansk økonom. Han var sentralbanksjef for Sør-Koreas sentralbank fra 2010 til 2014.

Kim fikk avskjed i nåde fra den sørkoreanske hæren i 1971. Etter dette tok han sin økonomiutdanning; først en BA i økonomi ved Seoul National University (1973), deretter Ph.D. i økonomi ved University of Pennsylvania i USA (1979).
Hans første jobb var som forskningsassistent ved Korea Development Institute (KDI). Etter dette flyttet han til USA, og fortsatte å arbeide med forskning; først ved Wharton Econometric Forecasting Associates, Inc., deretter ved Center for Human Resource Research ved Ohio State University. Her var han ansatt fram til 1983.[2]
Fra 1983 begynte han igjen å jobbe hos KDI.[2] Fra 1983 til 1984 var han forskningsstipendiat, og fra 1985 til 1988 stipendiat. Senere hadde han også to ulike direktørtitler i KDI, og han var president der fra 2002 til 2007. Han har blant annet vært assisterende minister og spesialrådgiver for visefinansministeren, og departementssjef for økonomidirektøren ved presidentens kontor.
Hans siste verv før han ble sentralbanksjef for Sør-Koreas sentralbank var Sør-Koreas representant i OECD. Hans periode som sentralbanksjef var fra 1. april 2010 til 31. mars 2014. Lee Ju-yeol overtok som sentralbanksjef etter Kim.
