Dossenheim er en kommune som ligger i den nordvestlige delen av delstaten Baden-Württemberg i Tyskland. Kommunen grenser i nord mot Schriesheim, i nordvest mot Ladenburg, i vest mot Edingen-Neckarhausen og i sør mot Heidelberg. Det er rundt regnet 12 000 innbyggere i kommunen. Dossenheim er en del av byregionen Rhein-Neckar-Kreis som har en befolkning på i overkant av 500 000 innbyggere.

Kommunen har en utstrekning på i overkent av 14 kvadratkilometer. Av dette er 17,2 prosent av overflaten satt av til bebyggelses- og infrastrukturformål. 32,3 prosent av arealet brukes til landbruk, mens 44,2 prosent består av skog. I løpet av de siste årene har landsbruksarealet krympet til fordel for økt bebyggelse.
Kommunestyret i Dossenheim har, i tillegg borgermesteren, 22 medlemmer som velges gjennom direkte valg for fem år av gangen. Etter lokalvalget i 2014 ble dette setefordelingen i kommunestyret:
