Asker sentrum er handels- og administrasjonssentrum i Askerbygda og i Asker kommune. Det er også et delområde i kommunen. Asker sentrum avgrenses av Asker stasjon, Asker stadion Føyka og Asker rådhus. Sentrum lå opprinnelig nærmere Asker kirke og Askergårdene noen få hundre meter lengre nord, og fikk sin nåværende beliggenhet etter etableringen av jernbanen i 1872. Dagens Asker sentrum kan derfor regnes som en stasjonsby.

Kommunesenteret er i dag et velfungerende sentrum med en god miks av moderne bygninger og eldre trehus. Det er en god balanse mellom de utendørs handlegatene og kjøpesenteret Trekanten, og nærhet mellom handel, tjenester, opplevelser og transport. I tilknytning til senteret, ved Bakerløkka, ligger også Asker kulturhus og Asker bibliotek.
I de gamle lokalene til Østre Asker gård, like ovenfor rådhuset, holder Asker kulturskole til. På den andre siden, nedfor rådhuset, ligger kultur- og selskapslokalet Venskaben og det historiske kunsterhjemmet Hasselbakken. På østsiden av togstasjonen ligger Trafo Kunsthall. Asker sentrum har hyggelige møteplasser og et godt utvalg av serveringssteder.
Asker sentrum fikk Statens bymiljøpris av Miljøverndepartementet for 2007, hvor temaet var «Uten handel dør sentrum». I juryens begrunnelse het det:
Asker har gjennom de siste 20 årene arbeidet bevisst og kontinuerlig med å finne strategier for å styrke Asker sentrum som handelssted. Dette fordi kommunen erkjenner at handel er viktig for et levende by- og tettstedssentrum.
I 2022 åpnet Wesselkvartalet i sentrum, tegnet av Vigsnæs+Kosberg++ Arkitekter. Kvartalet er på 20 800 kvadratmeter, fordelt på tre bygg som går i hverandre, med høyder på mellom fire og syv etasjer. Fasadene er i lys teglstein, med kurver i fasadene – beskrevet som bånd som ligger på høykant.[1]
I den norske arkitekturdebatten har kvartalet fra flere hold blitt trukket frem som et eksempel til etterfølgelse.[2][3][4] I 2021 fikk ble arkitektene tildelt Murverksprisen for Wesselkvartalet. I 2022 ble det tildelt utmerkelsen DOGA-merket for design og arkitektur. Juryen legger vekt på at teglfasadene i Wesselkvartalet er tilpasset trehusbebyggelsen og de omkringliggende bygårdene nær jernbanestasjonen, og at prosjektet med sine buede, middelhavsinspirerte former har gitt Asker sentrum et løft.[5][6]
