Het chemisch element zuurstof (O), met een atoommassa van 15,9994(3) u, bezit 17 isotopen. Naast de meest voorkomende zuurstofisotoop 16O komen er nog twee andere stabiele isotopen voor: 17O en 18O. Er zijn 14 radioactieve isotopen bekend met halveringstijden van minder dan drie minuten.
De 15O-isotoop wordt regelmatig gebruikt in de positronemissietomografie (PET). Het heeft 8 protonen, 7 neutronen en 8 elektronen.
Zuurstofisotopenanalyse is een veelgebruikte onderzoeksmethode in de aardwetenschappen waarbij de verhouding tussen de stabiele zuurstofisotopen 16O en 18O in sediment wordt bepaald.
