Konsep dan keluaran pertama (2013)
Syarikat rakaman ini telah dimulakan oleh Markus Staiger, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Nuklear Blast Records dan Shawn Keith, bekas naib presiden Sumerian Records.[1] Syarikat tersebut telah diterangkan sebagai syarikat cabang Nuclear Blast yang memfokuskan pada muzik rock dan alternatif, serupa dengan Arising Empire. Arising Empire memfokuskan pada band metalcore dan punk.[2] Dalam satu temu bual, Keith bercakap tentang syarikat tersebut: "Membangunkan syarikat ini sangat menarik bagi saya. Peluang untuk bekerjasama dan memupuk artis baharu dan mapan yang berusaha ke arah meluaskan potensi global mereka sungguh mendebarkan. SharpTone akan terus mempelbagaikan dan berkembang sebagai jenama untuk peminat muzik benar-benar kenal pasti. Kami bukan sekadar syarikat rakaman lain.
