ഈറ്റപൊളപ്പൻ, ഇംഗ്ലീഷിലെ പേര് Blyth's Reed Warbler എന്നാണ്. ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം Acrocephalus dumetorum എന്നുമാണ്. ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ജന്തുശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞൻ എഡ്വാർഡ് ബ്ലിത്തിന്റെ ബഹുമാനാർത്ഥമാണ് ഈ പേര്. ഇവ തണുപ്പുകാലത്ത്ഭാരതം, ശ്രീലങ്ക എന്നിവിടങ്ങളീലേക്ക് ദേശാടനം നടത്താറുണ്ട്. ചപ്പുചവറുകളിലാണ് സാധാരണ കാണുന്നത്. ചതുപ്പുകളിൽ ഇവയെ കാണാറില്ല. പ്രാണികളും ചെറുപഴങ്ങളുമാണ് ഭക്ഷണം

ഇവ ഏഷ്യ, യൂറോപ്പിന്റെ കിഴക്കേ അറ്റം എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലാണ് പ്രജനനം നടത്തുന്നത്. കുറ്റിച്ചെടികൾക്കിടയിലാണ് കൂടു് ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നത്. 4-6 വരെ മുട്ടകളിടും.
12.5 സെ.മീ മുതൽ 14 സെ.മീ വരെ നീളാം കാണും. മുകൾ വശം തവിട്ടുകലർന്ന കറുപ്പുനിറം. അടിവശം നരച്ചതാണ്. പൂവനും പിടയും കാഴ്ചയിൽ ഒരുപോലെയാണ്.
