ലൈത്രം സാലികാരിയ

സ്പൈക്ഡ് ലൂസ്സ്ട്രൈഫ്, പർപ്പിൾ ലൈത്രം എന്നീ നാമങ്ങളിലും അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ലൈത്രം സാലികാരിയ (Lythrum salicaria) (പർപ്പിൾ ലൂസ്സ്ട്രൈഫ്^[1]) ലൈത്രേസി കുടുംബത്തിലെ ഒരു സപുഷ്പി സസ്യമാണ്. ലൂസ്സ്ട്രൈഫ് എന്ന് പേരുള്ള സസ്യങ്ങൾ പ്രിമുലേസീ കുടുംബത്തിലും കാണപ്പെടുന്നതിനാൽ ഈ സസ്യവുമായി ആശയക്കുഴപ്പമുണ്ടാകാറുണ്ട്. വളരെ ചെറിയ വിത്തുകൾ നിറഞ്ഞ ഫലം 3-4 മില്ലീമീറ്റർ വലിപ്പമുള്ള ചെറിയ കാപ്സ്യൂൾ ആണ്.^[2] ഈ സസ്യം യൂറോപ്പ്, ഏഷ്യ, വടക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറൻ ആഫ്രിക്ക, തെക്ക് കിഴക്കൻ ഓസ്ട്രേലിയ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലെ തദ്ദേശവാസിയാണ്.^[3][4][5][6]
