Quarum plurimae sunt species perennes herbaceae in agris apertis sicut pratis, campis latissime patentibus herbisque obsitis, et savannas inventae. Plerumque in America Septentrionali endemicae sunt, et nonnullae species in Mexico, America Australi, et Eurasia inveniuntur.[1] Nonnullae species Americanae in Europam aliasque orbis terrarum regiones introductae sunt.
