Infusum (-i n.)[1] est potio cum aqua confecta, ubi folia, flores, semina, fructus, aut cortex plantae alicuius in aqua plerumque calida infunditur; potio sic facta bibitur, aut calida aut frigida, interdum aliis rebus immixtis. Gaubius, pharmacologus saeculi duodevicensimi, infusum sensu laxo definit: "Infusum est medicamentum internum, fluidum, ex menstruo liquore, materiae idoneae parte aliqua, ope macerationis, citra ebullitionem, imbuto constans. Diversitas menstrui, paraeparationis, aliarumque conditionum, varia huic nomina peperit." Nomina praeacipua deinde enumerantur et definiuntur, inter quae tinctura, claretum, et nectar, huius generis sigillatim vinum Hippocraticum, sed praecipue thea medicata aut infusum sensu stricto.[2]
