Hōrus[1](Aegyptie Ḥrw, Ḥr, quod ex origine "Superum" significat, prius /ˈħaːɾuw/, dein /ˈħoːɾ(ǝ)/,[2] Coptice Ϩⲱⲣ Hōr) est deus in antiqua religione Aegypti. Horus, qui cum falconis capite pictus est, est Isis filius in mythologia Aegyptia. Macedones qui Aegypto potiti sunt et ceteri Graeci eum Apollini adsimulare solebant[3]. Ita locus ob maximum Hori templum venerabile Apollinopolis appellata est.
