Chrestomathia (Graeco χρηστομάθεια 'desiderium discendi' < χρηστός 'utilis' + μανθάνω 'disco') est corpus electorum litterarum locorum, praecipue auxilium rei discendae adhibitum. In philologia et in investigatione litterarum, chrestomathia est genus libri qui seriem eximiorum textuum praebet, ad demonstrandum progressum linguae vel stili literarii. Ab anthologia poëseos differt propter eius propositum didacticum.
